Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven
Collections Specialist to join our client's finance team in Newark,
DE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and
collecting outstanding accounts receivable balances from clients
and customers. This role requires excellent communication skills,
persistence, and the ability to work independently to ensure timely
collections and maintain positive client relationships. Key
Responsibilities: Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts
and follow up via phone, email, or mail. Contact customers to
arrange payment plans and negotiate payment terms when necessary.
Record and update customer payment status and interactions in the
system. Resolve billing disputes and discrepancies in a
professional and timely manner. Collaborate with internal
departments (sales, billing, customer service) to ensure account
accuracy and resolve client issues. Recommend accounts for further
action such as escalation, suspension of services, or third-party
collections. Maintain detailed and accurate collection notes and
documentation. Prepare aging reports and assist with month-end
accounts receivable reporting. Ensure compliance with company
policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required;
associate or bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
preferred. 2 years of experience in collections, customer service,
accounts receivable, or a related financial role. Strong verbal and
written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
(especially Excel). Excellent organizational skills and attention
to detail. Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
and maintain positive customer relationships. Beacon Hill is an
