is seeking an Engineer to join our growing Hydrogen Economy Venture
working at the newly opened Center for Clean Hydrogen in Newark,
DE. Chemours is a founding member collaborating with the University
of Delaware as well as other companies and institutions. The Center
for Clean Hydrogen is a first-of-its-kind facility that enables
real-world testing of new components at lab, pilot, and commercial
scales. To overcome the technological challenges of generating
low-cost hydrogen, the Engineer will be tasked with improving
equipment designs and optimizing operating conditions using
next-generation Nafion--- membranes.The Engineer will be
responsible for the design, assembly and testing of water
electrolyzers and fuel cells. The Engineer will also be closely
connected to the Chemours Discovery Hub with the R&D team that
is working on Nafion--- membrane technologies. This position will
report to the Global Technical Manager.The responsibilities of the
position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide engineering support to The Center for Clean Hydrogen
operations for troubleshooting, modifying equipment and facilities,
and activities that promote Process Safety Management.
- Provide engineering expertise for project design work to ensure
its compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and
quality assurance
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures
and performance issues
- Develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include
equipment checks and predictive preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to
recommend improvements
- Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share
best practices
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to
support and improve efficiency of the equipment
- Daily monitoring of electrical and instrument performance in
the facility
- Work with internal and external teams to facilitate continuous
improvement efforts related to electrical and instrumentation
performance
- Represent Chemours during collaborative efforts with University
of Delaware as well as other companies and institutionsThe
following is required for this role:
- Bachelor's or master's degree from an ABET accredited
institution in Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose,
troubleshoot, and solve problems
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex,
time-sensitive projects
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with high degree
of personal initiative and flexibility to monitor and move projects
forward quickly and safelyThe following is preferred for this role:
- 3+ years of work experience in related areas
- Minitab, JMP or other statistical tools for data analytics
- Experience with (Machine-user interface?)- software
interfacing
- Excellent communicator to prepare and deliver effective
technical reports and oral presentations
- CADD software or relative design
