We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.The Engagement Case Manager empowers individuals by assisting them in developing a strong, stable recovery support system by assisting individuals with self-awareness, encouragement and support, and modeling the positive benefits of long term recovery.Additional Experience Information:This is a peer position.A commitment to recovery, choice, empowerment, and the ability to work with people with serious substance use disorders, mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders to find meaningful lives in the community is required. BCCS believes that employees in recovery-based positions should be abstinent from non-prescribed, mood-altering substances.**Applicant must have direct personal experience living with mental illness and/or addiction and recovery. Applicant must be willing to self-disclose lived experience for the purpose of education, role modeling, and providing hope to others about the reality of recovery.**Qualifications for this position are:REQUIRED: High School Graduate or EquivalentPREFERRED: Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or related field preferred.CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) preferred. If candidate does not hold a CPRS certification, they must obtain certification within 12 months of their hire date.REQUIRED: Substance Abuse/Mental health field - 6 monthsSchedule:Mon-Fri 6am-2pmThis position is based out of our Newark location, and will work with BCCS clients statewide.
