Job Description:
This individual will be responsible for defining and executing a
data driven strategy across Wealth Management businesses to support
the creation, capture, storage, search and integration of document
content across an array of global client and employee-facing
systems. This individual will work closely with business and
operations Subject Matter Experts, Product Owners, Engineering and
the Chief Data Office specialists to implement an extensible data
model that becomes the trusted foundational reference data source
for all Wealth Management documentation content. This role will
also be responsible for the administration of a change management
process and governance model to ensure the Content Taxonomy
structure & Meta Data definitions are accurately and consistently
applied, and remain current over time. Primary Job Duties &
Responsibilities
- Oversight of taxonomists who administer new BAU setup requests
and define target state data model
- Define data profiling, metadata documentation, data lineage,
and data transformation rules in support of key program
deliverables.
- Approach large complex data problems and being able to create a
strategy of how to tackle, and a lot is about delving into the data
and reaching out to a self-created network of content owners to
solve complex taxonomy problems.
- Lead/assist in creating, implementing and enforcing a taxonomy
and meta data inventory that satisfies Wealth Management needs
across LOBs/geographies.
- Meet data management needs of internal and external clients
leveraging and establishing data model standards and best
practices, including problem research/resolution and customer
education.
- Performs data impact analyses in partnership with project
teams. Supports the building of strategic model solutions including
transformation rules and attribute relationships.
- Participate in defining, loading, and maintaining Taxonomy
Content titles, controlled vocabularies of Meta Data and
Attributes, including being involved in user acceptance testing and
production validation testing of Taxonomy enhancements and cross
impacts
- Identify new opportunities to optimize content delivery;
partner with product and tech teams to support content digitization
and client self-service.
- Align taxonomy structure to support busines vision, customer
needs, regulatory requirements; ensure taxonomy and meta data
attributes are client/user focused
- Partner with content creators and users across the
organization, leveraging existing definitions and best practices,
where applicable, including Asset & Wealth Management and Firm-wide
Chief Data Office teams.
- Lead the taxonomy governance cross-functional working team,
manage the new request queue, and provide oversight for the
day-to-day implementation, maintenance, and governance of the
taxonomy.
- Proactively communicate with stakeholders to ensure awareness
and promote adoption; ability to influence, educate, and persuade
to build cross-functional alignment. Qualifications Education, Work
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum:
- At least 5 years of experience in knowledge management
designing and implementing taxonomies/ontologies or related
experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of Project Management experience
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics), Library Sciences or Information Management.
- 3+ years of experience executing in Agile methodology
(familiarity with managing Jira boards, and Scrum ceremonies)
- Hands on use of tools and software to extract and analyze data
(e.g., Excel, Alteryx, etc.); moderate knowledge of data modeling
tools/methods to support recommendations.
- Prior team management experience of taxonomists in a dynamic
and fast paced organization
- Strong data analysis experience of large data sets
- Strong problem solving across a complex information
architecture
- Demonstrated ability to transform complex problems into
user-friendly solutions
- Experience working in a global financial services firm
- Preferred:
- Experience developing & managing product taxonomies for
business (e.g., financial services preferred, e-commerce or retail
acceptable)
- Familiarity with Asset & Wealth Management businesses ,
systems, tools, processes
- Ability to write SQL queries and experience with databases Job

categories, attributes, and other metadata. Ontology development
and information domain modeling experience
- Proven ability to present complex technical and metadata
