Chemours is seeking a Project Manager to join our Engineering team! This position will report to the TSS Business Capital Director and will have responsibilities at two research and development facilities located in the Wilmington-Newark DE areas.

The Project Manager supports the business for end to end capital project implementation and project results that achieve business objectives, while complying with standard work practices as defined by the Chemours Project Systems. The Project Manager works with management, technology, maintenance, and operations to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of cost and capital project planning and implementation process.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Translating business objectives into capital project objectives.
  • Ensures all non-capital alternatives to meet the business objectives have been evaluated.
  • Is accountable to the business for project success.
  • Will use Agile/Scrum methodology to work effectively and efficiently to support capital project at a pace needed to keep up with the business and R&D needs.
  • Establishes effective communications within the Project Team to ensure alignment among business objectives, project objectives, and design basis.
  • Understands the roles, responsibilities, and contribution of functional members of the Project Team and empower them to do their jobs.
  • Works collaboratively with their peers and the facility team to ensure the project deliverables are met (timing, cost, effectiveness).
  • Provides primary interface between R&D, Manufacturing Technology, site management team, and the Business Unit Steering Team.
  • Helps improve capital project work processes and practices to meet the needs of R&D while ensuring company policies are followed.
  • Works with R&D and the Facility Engineer to develop basic data to the point that the project can be done timely and efficiently.
  • Leads all gatekeeping reviews, reports out at capital site steering team meeting, and ensures all Front-end (FEL) deliverables are met.
  • Prepares all project-funding documents.
  • Ensures commissioning and turnover plans are prepared.
  • Helps with the selection of the right construction and project methodology, and drives performance of this team.
  • Provide Engineering Management function for portfolio of projects at assigned sites. These projects would include projects assigned to the successful candidate, as well as projects being led by other project managers.


    In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
    • BS degree in an engineering discipline.
    • 2+ years of project management experience
    • Agile mindset with the ability to adapt project management to a research/laboratory setting
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills
    • Strong leadership skills


      The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit :
      • Experience in a research and development setting
      • Experience working in the chemicals industry

        Pay Range (in local currency):
        $81,715.00 - $127,680.00

        Chemours Level:
        24

        Annual Bonus Target:
        6%
