Job purposeThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for
planning, directing, and coordinating accounting functions at the
highest level of management with the help of subordinate executives
and staff managers in order to strategically align the company for
future change and growth. Duties and responsibilitiesThe Chief
Financial Officer is responsible for:Overseeing the organization's
daily accounting functionsManaging the accounting, payroll,
accounts payable and accounts receivable departmentsStrategic
guidance in working with executive team to guide the organization's
financial decisionsCommunicating regularly with (and often
reporting to) the Senior ManagementCoordinating and preparing
internal and external financial statementsCoordinating activities
of external auditorsManaging the budget processAssessing current
accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and
implementing new processesDeveloping and monitoring financial
performance metricsOverseeing regulatory reporting, frequently
including tax planning and complianceHiring, training and retaining
accounting staffRisk Management in understanding various insurance
products for monitoring and renewalHelp oversee overall monitoring
of outside vendor for computer systemsSupporting and acting as
backup as needed for A/P, A/R, and
PayrollQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or
equivalentBachelor's Degree in AccountingExperience7-10 years of
experience in accounting/management roleProfessional
CertificationCPA or equivalent certification
preferredKnowledgeKnowledge of accounting software (Great Plains
preferred)Knowledge of Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of principles and
processes for providing customer and personal services; i.e.,
customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services,
and evaluation of customer satisfaction Knowledge of administrative
and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing,
managing files and records, and other office procedures and
