Job Description:
Full-time Physician Assistant opportunity in a well-established
I.D. private practice in Newark, DE. Our 4 M.D./4PA thriving
practice has a strong affiliation with ChristianaCare Health
System, a 1,200-bed medical system, a University affiliate, Level I
Trauma Center and Transplant Center, and a U.S. News & World Report
and Truven 's top hospital ranking 21 st in admissions nationally.
Duties:
- Contribute to physician effectiveness by identifying short-term
and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed,
recommend options and courses of action and implement physician
directives.
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients; performing
physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical
histories.
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering
diagnostic tests.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient records:
inpatient and outpatient.
- Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic
regimens; promote wellness and health maintenance.
- Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing
patient management plans.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with
procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control
policies and protocols.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional
requirements, and enforce adherence to requirements.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and
participating in professional societies.
- Develop healthcare team staff by providing information and
educational opportunities.
- Work with a physician one out of five weekends for inpatient
rounds. Qualifications:
- Completion or near completion of an accredited Infectious
Disease fellowship
- NCCPA Board-certified or board-eligible
- Able to complete the licensing requirements in the State of
Delaware
- Adherence to the principles and ethical standards of medical
practice
- Interest in specializing in Infectious Diseases
Responsibilities:
- Become an integral provider in a top-notch practice in the
community
- General ID medicine: 90% inpatient; 10% outpatient
- Weekend on-call one out of five weekends for hospital rounds
