in the Christiana Hospital - Newark is seeking an Assistant Nurse
Manager to work 40 hours weekly (day/evening) Monday through
Friday. This position requires some On-Call responsibilities (1-2
weeks per month) and some Weekend obligations, per department
guidelines. This role provides administrative direction for
clinical practice and cost-effective care delivery through the
management of daily operations in all unit practice areas. The
selected candidate will assume 24-hour accountability in
conjunction with other members of the leadership team, including
on-call and oversight of operations on all shiftsThis role supports
the Nurse Manager and the unit through the following
competencies:Supervising caregivers in all roles, including
recruitment activities, education, payroll/timekeeping, performance
management, conflict management, and positive disciplinePerformance
management and quarterly check-insScheduling and daily
staffingTimekeeping and Payroll responsibilitiesSupporting unit
standards and professional practiceCollaboration with members of
the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and advocate for
resources/patientsCost-effective resource management and budgeting
to maintain productivity and efficiencyFacilitating staff meetings
and daily huddlesMaintaining compliance with regulatory agency
standardsDeveloping and implementing quality/performance
improvement initiativesPerforming Cipher and Leader
RoundingSupporting professional governance and serving as a
facilitator and resource for unit Practice CouncilSupporting
interdepartmental relationships/team buildingFacilitating
achievement of the organizational, service line, and department AOP
goals and strategic aimsRequirements:Must have strong knowledge of
all of our unit practice environmentsMSN preferred. Candidates with
a BSN must enroll in MSN program, with completion within three
years.RN required. Perianesthesia experience is required.5 years of
appropriate clinical and leadership experienceQualified applicants
MUST have at least two years' experience of critical care or
step-down units. ICU experience preferred.Must be flexible to large
number of patients in the day due to level one trauma
hospitalSpecialty certification required (CAPA/CPAN/CCRN and/or
Nursing Leadership Certification preferred)BLS and ACLS
RequiredPALS preferred - must get within 6 monthsTNCC preferredEEO
