Description:The Behavioral Health Consultant Program is a
year-round program providing brief mental health screening and
individual, group and family mental health counseling services in
middle school settings across the state of Delaware.Provide
intervention for students and families that address the student's
behavior and family issues that impact school performance and
social and emotional development.The Social Worker/Counselor II
works in one assigned middle school.The service will include mental
health counseling and risk assessments for students enrolled in
middle school.Provide assessment, planning, counseling/therapy,
referrals, advocacy, and collateral contacts.The services will
include: screening for Mental Health/ Substance Abuse (MH/SA) and
for trauma; crisis assessment; clinical interventions;
psycho-educational groups; and training and consultation for
parents, teachers, and administrators.Establish comprehensive plans
for services to ensure student and family needs are met.Conduct
school based group counseling/therapy using an evidenced-based
model.Provide crisis assessment, clinical interventions,
psycho-educational groups and training to school professionals,
parents, guardians and family members.Adhere to an evidenced-based
social work model, principles and practices.Document all
screenings, assessments and consultations in appropriate
database.Travel required to attend meetings and training.Full-time

AssistanceEAPEducation and Experience RequiredMaster's degree in
Social Work, Counseling or related degree and license eligible
(LCSW, LPCMH, LMFT), required. Master's degree in Social Work,
Counseling or related degree with a clinical license (LCSW, LPCMH,
LMFT), preferred.Requires experience in determining clinical
necessity for mental health services, and provision of behavioral
health services for children and families; knowledge and experience
in coordinating/collaborating multiple systems of care,
preferred.Must have valid driver's license, which meets the
requirements of the agency's insurance carrier and reliable
