ChristianaCare's Autism Program is searching for a Full Time
Health Psychologist.The Psychologist will be an essential part of
the clinical team who will provide comprehensive psychological
autism evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health
conditions, inform treatment planning, and provide recommendations
for individuals across various settings (e.g. clinical,
educational, employment). This role requires expertise in
selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting a range of
psychological tests, and producing detailed, accurate reports. This
position will also provide teaching to psychology trainees,
psychiatry residents and/or other students. This position will
demonstrate excellent clinical skills, empathy, and a commitment to
delivering high-quality mental health care. The Psychologist will
see patients across varying patient life span, from pediatrics to

Responsibilities
- Administers a variety of psychological tests, including
cognitive, personality, neuropsychological, and developmental
assessments.
- Selects appropriate assessment tools based on referral
questions and individual client needs.
- Conducts clinical interviews and gathers relevant background
information from multiple sources.
- Interprets test results to diagnose psychological, emotional,
and behavioral disorders and/or provide feedback and
recommendations to referring provider.
- Prepares comprehensive assessment reports that summarize
findings, diagnoses, and recommendations.
- Communicates assessment results to clients, families, and other
professionals in a clear and understandable manner.
- Provides consultation and recommendations to other
professionals regarding treatment planning and intervention
strategies.
- Provide evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to
the specific needs of patients, including but not limited to,
supportive therapy (individual or group), cognitive-behavioral
techniques, and psychoeducation.
- Participate in teaching of psychology trainees, psychiatry
residents and/or other students in practice.
- Performs related duties as required.Position Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or
Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution required.
- Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of
Delaware
- At least 1-year of clinical experience required with experience
conducting psychological assessments preferred.
- 2 years' experience working primarily in diagnosis and
treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
preferred.Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:
- Proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting a wide
range of psychological tests. Specifically, the candidate must be
trained to administer the ADOS-2 across the 5 modules of the
instrument.
- Strong clinical interview skills and the ability to gather
comprehensive patient histories.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to providing culturally sensitive and
patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and
documentation practices.Whether a position can be supported for
