Job Description:
ChristianaCare is inviting applications for our Fall 2026 Nurse
Residency Program within the Emergency Department, an opportunity
tailored for graduates aiming to specialize in emergency care. This
year-long residency combines clinical education with patient care
responsibilities, paving the pathway to become a well-rounded
emergency nurse. Under the guidance of seasoned mentors, residents
will acquire hands-on experience, dealing with a spectrum of cases
from minor injuries to acute emergencies. Emphasizing a holistic
approach, the program supports both professional growth and
personal development, ensuring readiness to tackle diverse patient
needs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Provide direct and
comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
Participate in rotations across various shifts to understand the
24/7 operational needs of emergency care. Collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and
support staff to deliver effective patient-centered care. Engage in
simulation training and educational workshops to enhance clinical
decision-making skills. Implement evidence-based practices in
patient assessment and treatment to improve patient outcomes.
Develop proficiency in emergency medical systems and technology
used within the department. Strong clinical skills with an ability
to handle high-stress situations Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team and
independently Proficient in using healthcare technology and
electronic health records Critical thinking and problem-solving
skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Registered Nurse (RN) license by the program start
date. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced
Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
