Job Description:

JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Controllers is a global organization of approximately 1,500 colleagues, operating through a partnership among Corporate Accounting Policies, Corporate Regulatory Policy & Reporting, Corporate Financial Reporting, Corporate Sector Controllers, Global Finance Operations (GFO), Global Finance India, and Finance Platform Strategy & Controls. Working together, our strengths and resources enable us to ensure the integrity of the JPMorgan Chase consolidated books and records and the results of individual legal entities within the Firm. The controllership function is focused on ensuring and improving the organization's credibility through accounting, financial controls, systems and reporting.

Corporate Sector Controllers is responsible for financial and operational accounting activities, internal controls, and financial reporting for the Corporate LOBs (ex CIO, Treasury and Private Equity), as well as centrally managed Firm-wide accounting activities. The Corporate Sector Controllers global LOB coverage areas include Global Real Estate, Human Resources, Central Technology, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Corporate Responsibility, Communication, Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, Oversight & Control, Intelligent Solutions, JPMC Foundation, Corporate Contributions, Sourcing & Procurement, Global Services, Operational Control, Corporate Other and Corporate Staff Functions (Audit, Executive, Finance, Risk, Security, Tax, etc). Additional operational responsibilities include Legal Entity Controllership, Regulatory Reporting, Controls, Real Estate Construction Accounting and Telecommunications (Data & Voice) Invoice & Contract Management .

This role will be involved in the direct booking of transactions and oversight of the Firm's compensation and benefit programs. Primary responsibilities will include accounting, analysis and reporting for pension and postretirement benefit programs, medical insurance, and other benefit programs. They will include account reconciliation, variance analysis and assistance with the preparation of public reporting.

The role will also involve:

  • Interaction with the following key stakeholders globally: local and regional HR teams, Legal Entity Controllers, Corporate Tax, Corporate Accounting Policies, and SEC/ Regulatory Reporting and various internal/external audit groups
  • Involvement in the preparation of benefit plan financial statements
  • Participation in control environment activities (SOX compliance/Risk Control Self Assessments)
  • Detailed understanding and documentation of all program-related accounting activity

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
    • 3+ years of relevant experience required in accounting or finance, with demonstrated career progression
    • Certified Public Accountant a plus, but not required
    • Structured mind set with process/continuous improvement orientation
    • Proven ability to work well with various partners and customers
    • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Strong analytical and financial skills with a track record of execution against deliverables
    • Creative self-starter with strong initiative, ability to take ownership and work independently as well as contribute to the broader team
    • Ability to multi-task and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Experience preferred with automated financial systems and worksheet-modeling tools (Excel)
