ABOUT THE TEAM
The SAP.com Digital Platforms Team, within SAP's Intelligent
Enterprise - Digital Experience Solutions group, is responsible for
some of the company's core external (public-facing) digital web
properties. The SAP Digital Platforms Team is responsible for the
web design system, development lifecycle, continuous integration
and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices, technology stack, and
overall operational support for SAP.com's 47 country sites globally
publidhed in 23 languages.
The SAP.com Digital Platforms team is a detail-oriented, in-house
services team that is constantly pushing innovation within our
creative, budgetary, and technical boundaries to encourage internal
customers to produce a Best-Run, blazing-fast user-experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The SAP.com Digital Platforms team is looking for an Intern for 6
months to assist the Speed Performance Monitoring Lead with
identifying, assessing, and measuring site optimization
opportunities. Through on-going collaboration with the business
stakeholders, UX design, development, and other operational leads
for SAP's digital landscapes site optimization opportunites would
then be agreed upon and prioritized within SAP.com Agile Scrum
development life-cycle. Our on-going objective is to improve the
online responsiveness of our user-experience on desktop and mobile
web browsers in support of SAP's Simplify Digital Customer
Experience (SDCX) 2022-23 program aimed aims at reducing the
complexity of the digital engagement within the customer
This role is responsible for assisting in the management of SAP.com
and other digital entities including communications, content and
assets for various areas of the global website and digital
programs. The position provides a main point of contact for
assigned requests, driving projects to completion through close
collaboration with core platform team members, leadership, and
assigned third-party agencies to ensure efficient and timely
production of a high-quality digital customer experience.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL:
Audit websites for performance, identify optimization
opportunities, and present the results in the cross-functional team
Work in a collaborative environment developing and executing
against immediate and long-term incremental programs.
Make effective tradeoffs considering business priorities, but
always with the user-experience in mind.
Advise web engineering teams on key technical performance and
optimization considerations and best practices.
Work with Data/Analytics team on ensure assets are trackable for
reporting and insights initiatives.
Work with partners (e.g.: Adobe, Splunk, Google, Akamai, and other
third-party web services) and consulting agencies to ensure each
site release or initiative delivers maximum impact to customers
across all websites and data platforms.
Generate performance reports, competitive analysis, and benchmarks
for internal partners using our best-in-class performance and
Build out and report on synthetic tests with Splunk (a.k.a. Rigor)
Enterprise Synthetic Testing Platform.
Build out available Akamai mPulse Real-User Monitoring (RUM) test
Analyze performance metrics and build plans for improvements with

error-causing external script risks.
Develop, share, and set the bar within SAP for high quality in web
Assist with SAP.com agile ceremonies and planning.
Measure and A/B test site performance solutions.
Mentor, educate, and advocate for web speed performance
optimization across SAP IT IE CXS and SAP Digital Marketing
WHO YOU ARE:
We're looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and

General knowledge of web speed performance metrics.
General knowledge of industry standard web speed performance tools;
e.g.: WebPageTest.org, Google Pagespeed Insights, and Google
General to Intermediate knowledge, approx. 1-2 years, of general
Intermediate knowledge of Google Core Web Vitals strategy and
metric threshold requirements.
Intermediate knowledge of visual design principles and commonly
used tools for optimizing visual page elements; e.g.: images and
Have the ability to read and understand code, explore new
technologies, and APIs.
General knowledge of project management and, issue tracking and
documentation tools; e.g.: JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, Slack,
Proficiency with converting JSON to MS Excel for in-depth speed
Comfortable working with a geographically-distributed software
Willingness to acquire new skills to meet evolving needs.
Passion and interest in web performance optimization to improve an
website's user-experience across all web devices, internet
connection speeds, and geo-locations.
Exceptional organizational and planning skills and a proven ability
General knowledge of Agile methodologies.
General understanding of content management systems such as
WordPress or Adobe AEM.
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration
Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality.
Ability to prioritize effectively to manage multiple projects.
Experience working in a team environment as well as
Ability to collaborate across teams globally and complete tasks in
a timely manner.
Strong desire to continually learn new technologies.
Content Management Systems
Solid hands-on understanding of Google Analytics, CDNs and custom
Intermediate knowledge of advanced web performance profiling tools;
e.g.: GTmetrix, Pingdom, SpeedCurve, Rigor, etc.
Experience optimizing React applications.
Knowledge of code splitting and simplification methods.
In pursuit of degree in a related field or equivalent work
experience; such topics of interests are: Computer Science, Web
Performance Analytics, Full Stack Web Development, Front-End Web
Development, User-Experience Design, Interactive Design and Media,
Marketing & Business
Relevant experience in study or similar position managing
production processes and workflow.
Relevant experience in study or similar position monitoring quality
assurance testing environments and live production systems.
