Chemours is seeking a Global Technology Senior Director to join our growing Thermal and Specialized Solutions (TSS) team! This position will report directly to the Business Unit President of TSS at our Discovery Hub or Wilmington location. Occasional travel will be necessary.

The Thermal & Specialized Solutions (TSS) business is a vital part of solving the world's most challenging problems---creating a better, more capable future for all. As a Technology Director you will develop and execute on the strategy to drive our platforms for growth from a R&D perspective. The work of your team is key in developing the next generation refrigerants and you work hand in hand with the regional commercial organizations to meet customer needs.

You will support the manufacturing sites across Chemours with a specialized engineering team in niche knowledge areas and the TSS sites specific with manufacturing technology to increase OEE against competitive cost levels. Also, Technical Service and the Core laboratory services are part of the technology team. You have a team of 8 direct reports and an indirect organization of approximately 135 employees across the globe but mainly in the US in the Discovery Hub (Newark), Wilmington and the Plant sites in Texas.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead a cross-functional technical organization that provides technical support to customers, supports our manufacturing sites around the world, and leads product innovation for the F-Gas / refrigerant industry
  • Develop the technology innovation strategy aligned with the mega trends impacting the target markets segments
  • Execute the technology strategy to achieve the business growth for the three horizons of innovation
  • Build, develop, and retail an empowered and innovative organization that responds with agility to the market and regulatory needs through product innovation and operational excellence
  • Provide strategic technical direction and support to the Government Affairs, Regulatory, and Advocacy teams in support to business priorities
  • Set direction to the Manufacturing Technology organization to deliver the technology and process capability needed to operate, maintain, and improve a safe and cost-effective manufacturing operation
  • Provide strategic direction together with Operations for capacity growth in support of business objectives
  • Ensure adequate PSM processes and mechanisms are in place for Technology in all manufacturing sites to achieve the EHS goals for the business
  • Lead the business sustainability leadership team to reduce the footprint of our products, minimize manufacturing waste & emissions, and achieve net neutrality by 2050
  • Mobilizes the technical team to provide industry leadership in technical committees, Codes & Standards working groups, and other forums relevant in the industry
  • Participates as a member of the Chemours Technology Council to implement digital and technical platforms to catalyze innovation and institutional knowledge
  • Ensure adequate resourcing and deployment of technical experts thru leading the Chemours Engineering Technology team to support critical projects for all businesses in the company


    The following is required for this role:
    • Master's degree in Science or Engineering
    • Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in (strategic) technology leadership roles
    • Proven track record in product innovation and/or product development
    • Experience in team leadership and people development in a growth environment
    • Ability to travel occasionally
    • Experience interacting with customers and partners
    • Experience in financial or business analysis
    • Experience with identifying strategic partnerships

        Pay Range (in local currency):
        $194,746.00 - $304,290.00

        Chemours Level:

        Annual Bonus Target:
        32%

        Annual Stock Amount
        100,000.00 USD
