Chemours is seeking a Technical Drafting Apprentice to join our Operations team! This position will report directly to the Facilities Engineer.

The Technical Drafting Apprentice under the guidance of an experienced colleague will receive specialized on the job training. This role involves tasks such as adhering to workplace procedures, following health and safety guidance, and completing tasks related to supporting active operations focused on 3D modeling and 2D drafting for process equipment designs in R&D facility.

Location: Newark, DE
Hours: Part-time schedule up to 20 hours per week
Term: 12-18-month assignment

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Must work in full compliance and with the approved safety guidance and lab personnel
  • Follow written standard operating procedures
  • Assist with preparing drawings, figures, and designs for technical review
  • Support with document management of CAD files, drawings, and other documentation
  • Accompany and assist on walkdowns to gather information for design requests


    The following is required for this role:
    • Enrollment at New Castle County Vo-Tech School District at time of assignment
    • High school student enrolled in Technical Drafting program
    • Drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (AutoCad or SolidWorks)
    • Good mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work well and receive feedback from others


      The following is preferred for this role:
      • 3.0 GPA or above
      • Good adhering to strict safety guidelines and conscious of safety risks
      • Knowledge of piping schematics and machine design
      • Ability to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals and blueprints
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
