Biochemist II in Technical Operations, Glasgow
Consumables Manufacturing, Newark, Delaware.
This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional,
looking for the next step in their career. As a Biochemist II, you
will be responsible for:
- You will work with cross functions to resolve production issues
including raw materials, reagent formulation, QC testing, and
- You lead process and/or design change projects, following
written protocols, prepares validation and/or test results reports,
working with cross function team to get deliverables in time.
- You participate/investigate escalated customer complaints and
manufacturing issues. Coordinates and carries out investigations
and implements corrective and preventive actions.
- You create and participate in the design of experiments,
coordinate and perform data analysis and write internal reports and
- You may lead a team or directly investigate the performance of
raw materials, new and re-formulated assays and manufacturing
processes, working with Technicians in the laboratory running Syva,
AU, Dimension, Dimension Vista, Atellica and otherinstruments with
serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin.

- You have good project, time management and people skills,
working with cross function teams to meet product release on time
and project milestones.
- You have a good understanding and working knowledge of
polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and principles of
immunodiagnostic technology including EMIT technology as well as
experience with immunoassays.
- Since you will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues of
chemistry and immunoassays, you need knowledge and experiences of
protein chemistry and chromatography, EMIT technology, automated
immunoassay analyzers and/or ELISA, chemiluminescent technology,
Western Blot, SDS-PAGE.
- You will have extensive interactions with cross functions,
therefore, a strong work ethic, excellent written, presentation and
communication skills, and the ability to work as a project leader
as well as independently is essential.
- You need proficiency with Microsoft Office, statistical
analysis knowledge, understanding lean production system and Six
Sigma, using Minitab is a plus.
- You are in a technical support role and fast paced environment,
and need to have team orientation, be flexible and demonstrate the
ability to switch priorities to meet business needs, must be a

- Bachelors degree or advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry,
biology, medical technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years technical support or laboratory
experience, including experience in chemistry and immunoassays.
