Firmwide Risk Management is overseen and managed on an enterprise-wide basis. The Firm's risk management governance and oversite framework involves understanding drivers of risks, types of risks, and impacts of risks.

The Wholesale Risk Chief Data Office (CDO) is aligned with the Risk Management organization and the Firmwide Data Management organization to improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of Wholesale Risk's critical data through the design, implementation, and ownership of a comprehensive data management strategy in line with the firmwide policy and standards. The Wholesale Risk CDO specifically covers Wholesale Credit, Market, Country, Principal and Model Risk.

The team is looking for a candidate to provide support for multiple data initiatives and programs across the Wholesale Risk Chief Data Office. The person will be responsible for working with teams across Wholesale Risk overseeing delivery of a select number of initiatives and playing an active data-centric role in multiple other initiatives as well as BAU activities. The role will require working on multiple projects & use cases simultaneously.

The focus of your role is to maximize the trustworthiness of data across the business(s) you support by partnering with Business Process Owners, Data Quality, Data Providers and Technology partners to ensure the data can be retrieved, consumed, and utilized by the various lines of business.

You will support project planning and prioritization of Data Quality remediation activities. This is achieved by seeking diverse points of view for optimal solutions, understanding, resolving or escalating issues and concerns and influencing team members to deliver on time and within budget. Activities include:

  • Supporting the Data Quality book of work affecting various Risk Management functions through root cause analysis and oversight and coordination of data quality issue remediation.
  • Actively contributing to Data Quality Working Groups and Forums to drive data quality issue resolution, track progress and resolve potential issues or dependencies
  • Engaging with subject matter experts to prioritize issues, coordinate issue remediation and oversight of data quality governance


Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with Operational Processes and Technology applications used within JPMorgan Chase and how they are connected is preferred.
  • Formal Project Management/Agile/Lean Program skills preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years of combined experience in banking and financial services industry and data governance. Experience includes working on data and data quality initiatives, aligning business processes with data, implementing technology solutions, developing or supporting standards / policies and data-related issue management and remediation efforts.
  • Experience with data management processes and tools and applications, including process mapping
  • 3-5 years of experience in Business analysis , / Data management , and process documentation skills are a must.
  • Experience with production of Data Quality Dashboards and Reports

Communication / Influence
  • Excellent ability to quickly learn and assimilate business and technical knowledge, and confidently speak about these processes
  • Able to communicate, document, and interpret the connections between operational processes and their associated technology applications.
  • Comfortable working in Global Role across multiple time zones and able to quickly establish superior stakeholder relationships. Proven ability to work across diverse Business and Technology groups, build consensus and execute the agreed plans.
  • Active team player i.e. one who contributes with ideas and solves problems, takes accountability, delivers on time and completes quality deliverables that adhere to standards
  • Excellent presentation skills, business and technical writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex data governance issues, policies, regulatory requirements and industry information affecting the business environment
  • The ability to provide regularly & timely status updates to management.

Soft Skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently in a flexible, fast paced environment
  • Must be detail oriented, highly responsible and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound and independent judgment

Technical
  • Overall strong desktop skills including Microsoft Excel (advanced skills), PowerPoint, Sharepoint, and other Office applications. Experience working in Jira based applications.
  • Understanding of concepts and hands-on experience working with relational databases, SQL, and BI tools; experience with tools such as Alteryx and Tableau preferred.
