Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as a Senior Biochemist, R&D, Assay Product Development

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Senior Biochemist, R&D, Assay Product Development, you will be responsible to:

  • Design and lead research and investigations pertaining to the development of clinical chemistry, immunoassays, sensors and calibration systems, working collaboratively with team members to complete projects on time.
  • Develop assay calibration and standardization schemes.
  • Lead R&D Teams.
  • Apply knowledge of In Vitro Diagnostic Regulations (IVDR), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) regulations and similar guidelines towards development of calibration schemes.
  • Conduct design verification/validation studies according to quality procedures and prepare data summaries for regulatory submissions to the regulatory agencies.
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary R&D Team in the development of both assays and calibrators.

  • Develop assays, sensors and calibration schemes.
  • Transfer R&D designs into the manufacturing processes.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts on commercial assays and calibrators as well as products under development.
  • Work across instrument platforms to develop sound standardization and harmonization processes.
  • Participate in and lead cross functional Teams.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience required
  • Broad knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry, proteins, immunology, clinical chemistry and medical devices
  • Typically, 5-10 years of successful experience in related field
  • Willing to travel up to 10%
