Cardno is seeking an experienced Data Manager who can combine creativity, business acumen, and technical ability to help our growing data management team. The ideal candidate will build, optimize and maintain platforms and databases to support large and complex analytical data sets and document data management plan and structures. Candidate should know how to analyze system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data. Ideally, familiarity with predictive analysis and data visualization techniques using relevant tools. Demonstrated experience to develop solutions to ensure client project information is accessed and stored effectively and securely in support of our growing data management practice.Job Description:Cardno is seeking an experienced Environmental Data Manager/Architect who can combine creativity, business acumen, and technical ability to help our growing data management team. The ideal candidate will build, optimize and maintain databases and dashboards to support large complex environmental data sets. Candidate should know how to analyze system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data and should have familiarity with relational databases and data visualization techniques using relevant and current tools and applications. Demonstrated experience developing solutions to ensure client project information is accessed and stored effectively/securely in support of our growing data management practice.JobResponsibilitiesandRequirements:Environmental data and database management; integrate data from laboratory, field, and historical sources into functional databases that can be linked with unstructured data utilizing SQL server and SharePoint.Strong experience in building relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, FileMaker, MS Access.Advance knowledge in data visualization and interactive dashboard tools such as Tableau, Power BI and D3.Perform and manage multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.Apply expertise to work with project teams to plan sampling campaigns, schedules, survey designs and provide query/reporting support, and develop reporting dashboards.Ensure system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements.Responsible for aiding and supporting the review of datasets, developing data management plans, and identifying alternatives for managing data more effectively.Familiarity and understanding of data modeling, chemistry data, and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).What you will bring:BS/BA degree in a related field.10+ years of previous work experience in environmental data management with strong relational database skills.Demonstrated ability to create and drive technical roadmaps and lead to execution.Proficiency in writing complex PostgreSQL queries.Proficiency in one or more big data programming languages, such as Javascript (including Angular application), R (Shiny application), and Python with at least 5 years applicable coding experience.Demonstrated ability to distill data-driven insights through informative visualizations & analytical communications for large datasets.Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.Proven problem solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills.A highly detailed focus and understanding of the complexities of data movement and needs as they relate to environmental, regulatory, and high profile projects.Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic and diverse environment.Benefit eligible employees are offered a variety of plans to help address their health and welfare needs, and the needs of their families.
