Chemours is seeking a Technology Manager to join our
growing Advanced Performance Materials Technology
team! This position will report directly to the Director of
Sustainable Technology for Advanced Performance Materials at
the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE.
Chemours’ Advanced Performance Materials business features a
broad portfolio of high-performance materials that are
catalyzing innovation for technologies across markets
that people around the world interact with every day.

approach to cultivate technology
development that meets unmet customer needs. Our innovations are
underpinned by deep technical knowledge and experience that
provides the market with solutions to solve seemingly unsolvable
This highly visible Technology Manager role will lead a team of
ten scientists and engineers responsible for Research & Development
and Technical Services for the Lubricants and Surface Protectants
portfolio. The Global Technology Manager will develop
and implement innovation strategy, facilitate agile
execution of the New Product Development process, provide guidance
for technical support of existing customers, and progress
sustainability programs within their product lines.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not
limited to, the following:
- Leadership of R&D and Technical Service organization for
Lubricants and Surfactant Protectants including setting and meeting
strategic goals and objectives for the team and team
members, project prioritization, talent development,
recruiting, and succession planning.
- Development and implementation of product line
technology roadmap including intellectual property strategy and
integration of sustainability programs.
- Working closely with global business team (Marketing, Product
Management, Sales, etc) to ensure alignment of technical resources
with business strategy for existing products and new product
- Implementation and follow through of
the Stage Gate process for formulation development including
assigning resources, prioritizing deliverables, and ensuring
appropriate progress versus timelines and milestones.
- Coordination of technical support to customer including
development and application of products, and resolution of various
- Establish and/or expand testing capabilities to support product
development and demonstrate performance requirements for customer
The following is required for this role:
- Master’s degree in Science or Engineering
- 5-10 years of combined leadership and technical experience
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply
- Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

- Advanced technical degree in science / engineering (PhD or
- Experience in lubricant or specialty chemicals industry
