Hub, a newly constructed 320,000 sq.ft. world-class
R&D/Application Development research facility located in
Newark, DE, has a Thermal Systems Engineer position available in
the Technology function.In Thermal & Specialty Solutions, we
harness next-generation, low-Global Warming Potential (GWP)
technology to provide market driven innovations to customers in the
areas of Refrigerants, Propellants, Fire Protection, Foam Blowing
Agents used in various systems for building and construction
segments, and Mobile and Stationary heating and cooling systems to
name a few. Our technical organization consists of experts in the
areas of fluorine, catalysis, process development, analytical and
formulation science, and application development to name a few.This
highly visible, key role will support R&D projects within the
Thermal & Specialty Solutions business with specific focus on
refrigerant development and system integration and evaluation for
the automotive industry. This role is based in the Chemours---
Discovery Hub in Newark, DE.The responsibilities of the position
include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support projects related to automotive thermal management to
meet strategic growth objectives while working closely and
maintaining good relationships with partners (laboratories,
startups, universities), tier 1 suppliers and Manufacturers.
- Designing and leading execution of experiments in lab
environment.
- Analyze data independently, draw statistically based
conclusions and determine next steps.
- Engage key external customers to develop and understand the
tradeoffs on equipment design when adopting new solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the
organization, customers and partners.
- Knowledge or the desire to learn fluorochemical science and
related application technologies.Travel 10-25% of time to customers
and partners.The following is required for this role:
- Mechanical (or chemical) engineering degree with 5 years of
work experience (advanced degree is a plus).
- Relevant experience working on refrigeration or air
conditioning equipment at component (e.g. compressors, heat
exchangers, etc.) or system level (e.g. commercial, residential or
automotive system).
- Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills,
excellent presentation skills, and the ability to work well with
all levels in the organization.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex,
time-sensitive projects
- Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of
initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move
projects forward quickly and safelyBenefits:
